Update BIO To Fix The Audio Problem

Tip: Changing the BIOS of your computer is a very risky process and should be done with care. If you take any wrong step, you could lose all your data and the PC gets corrupted.

Or if there is any problem that occurs in your PC while the PC is still updating the BIOS, you might lose all your data. Even if you do everything correctly, it is also possible that the updated version of the BIOS has problems in it.

This is why I urge you to keep a backup of all your important data and if on a laptop, keep the laptop connected to a running charger.

To start the BIOS update for your laptop you will have to follow these steps:

Search for “BIOS update followed by the name and model number of your laptop”. This will bring you to the website of the manufacturer of your Laptop.

From this website look for the latest version of BIOS available for your laptop and download the BIOS update from the icon provided.

Tip: keep the laptop connected to the charger and follow every instruction in the update carefully as a faulty BIOS update can crash your computer as well.

Also, use the BIOS update option only if no other options from the list work for your computer.

Enable Onboard Audio

One more reason for the audio issue on your computer could be the audio interface on your motherboard being disabled. This basically means the connections made for the audio signals on your motherboard have been disabled and so the computer is not even considering it has the capabilities of audio output.

To enable or check the Onboard Audiosetting, restart your computer, and when prompted, or before the Windows boot starts you will have to press the indicated BIOS option key. The BIOS option key is mostly F2, F12, F7.

When you are in the BIOS setting page, you will find the Onboard Audio option, this should be set to auto

Turn off your computer and make sure to check the RCA cable and the connectors are functioning or not.

Check 3.5 mm Audio Jack And Cable

As it is possible for the RCA cable or the RCA connected to get damaged, the same way it is possible that the 3.5mm Jack (used to connect earphones or headphones or speakers) be damaged as well.

So check if the connector is working or not.

Keep the PC power off at this time

Try Another Speaker

The speakers just like any other electronic gadget have a lot of mechanical parts which over time or use or physical damage or rough handling could end up getting damaged.
