6 Best Ways To Fix Memory Card Not Showing In Mobile

1. Clean SD Card with an Eraser

Things get dirty and so does a small device like SD card also gets dirty when not taken care properly.

So, when dust particles stick to the SD card or in the golden part of the SD card then you might face issues to access the SD card. All you have to do is take a soft cloth or an eraser and gently rub the golden part of the SD card until you feel it is tidy.

3. Wipe Cache Partition

In this method, I will recommend you to take a backup of all your data and information in the device because there is a chance that you might lose it. Use apps such as Google Photos, Google Contacts to take back-up of all the data on your device.



  1. Turn the device off
  2. Then press the volume up and power button at a time for a few seconds
  3. Now, you will enter into the “Recovery mode”
  4. Look for the option “Wipe Cache Partition”
  5. Select it by pressing the “power button”
  6. Use volume up, down buttons to navigate
  7. This should do the job for you
  8. Now, restart the smartphone

Note: The process of getting into the recovery mode is different for many smartphones, so make sure you are following the right method to do so. OR you can just Google the process to do it.

4. CHKDSK Command

So, for this method you will need a computer system. The system with regular specs will also do the job. 

Basically, at times the SD card has some bad sectors issues for which the phone can’t detect the SD card and eventually it can be fixed in the computer system through CMD.


  1. Insert the SD card in the system and make sure it detects
  2. Click on windows search bar
  3. Search for “Command Prompt or CMD”
  4. Right click on it and Run it as administrator
  5. Type “CHKDSK (allocateddrive-letter):/f” and enter
  6. Then it will start repairing the device
  7. And done

  1. Click on windows search bar
  2. Search for “Command Prompt or CMD”
  3. Right click on it and Run it as administrator
  4. Type “CHKDSK (allocateddrive-letter):/r” and enter
  5. Then it will start repairing the device

5. Use Recuva for Data Recovery

Now, the only method that remains is formatting the SD card and if the data in the SD card is important to you then I would recommend you use third-party software. Using Recuva you can take back-up of all the data in the SD card and format the SD card to use it further.

  1. Insert the SD card in the system and make sure it detects
  2. Now, after installing the tool open it
  3. Press “Next”
  4. Select “All files” in the “file types”

  8. Click on “Start”
  9. Now it will start scanning
  10. Then, select all files or the files which you want to recover
  11. Click on “Recover”
  12. Now allocate where the back-up file you want to store
  13. Once you have selected the location click “Ok”

6. Format SD Card With Malvastyle

  3. Click on the dropdown menu and select the device
  4. Once you have selected the device
